With an aptitude in copywriting and an adoration for writing books and articles, Kristen Fischer has combined her expertise and passions into a thriving career. At 34, she is an award-winning copywriter and author who enjoys what she does for a living.
Kristen has used her copywriting and editing skills to create promotional content for brands including Trane, Marriott, AtlantiCare, PetSafe and MediaPost, to name a few. She has written for clients in the information technology, health, media, marketing, retail, automotive, and environmental sectors. Her specialties include creating website content, press releases, articles, case studies, and newsletter content. Kristen is also a Certified Professional Resume Writer and member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Counselors.
As a journalist, she has contributed to Health, New Jersey Monthly, Writer's Digest, CollegeBound, HOW Design, eContent, and Home Business magazines, and has fact-checked for Men's Health and Philadelphia magazines. Kristen writes regularly for MediaBistro, SheKnows, SmartBrief, and FreelanceSwitch. She is a panelist on the award-winning podcast FreelanceRadio.
Her latest book, When Talent Isn't Enough: Business Basics for the Creatively Inclined (Career Press) was released in 2013. She also published Ramen Noodles, Rent and Resumes: An After-College Guide to Life with SuperCollege, LLC; and Creatively Self-Employed: How Writers and Artists Deal with Career Ups and Downs via iUniverse. Kristen is represented by literary agent Kathleen Rushall of the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency.
In her spare time, Kristen enjoys going to the beach, paddle water sports, spending time with family and friends, rooting for the New England Patriots, reading, scrapbooking, and frequenting Starbucks where she has yet to find a menu item that she does not like.
